5 Home Remedies For Shoulder Pain

You may not realize how much you depend on your shoulders, but reaching above, lifting luggage, and strapping on a seatbelt may be very painful if you have a shoulder injury. 1. Apply heat

 A salt bath is one of the commonly used methods to relieve pain. Fill a bathtub halfway with warm water and sprinkle Epsom salts on top. Soak the painful shoulder for 10 to 15 minutes. The bath stimulates circulation while reducing muscular cramps, relieving joint stiffness, and calming achy, worn legs and feet. Avoid taking a salt bath if you have an open wound, an allergic response such as a rash or hives, or a skin infection.

Rest for 10 to 15 minutes in a bathtub full of water. The salts are incredibly calming and pleasant to the skin. You can also add essential oils to the bath.

3. Apply ice to your shoulder

Icing your shoulder is a good idea. A ten-minute cold compress inside a towel can undoubtedly relieve your shoulder. You can also get an ice massage. Do not leave the ice in direct contact with the skin for more than 5 minutes to avoid frostbite.

4. Stretches

Stretching the muscles that surround the shoulder joint helps alleviate discomfort. Muscles that can move freely with the natural mobility of your shoulder will not be subjected to the persistent stiffness that tight muscles experience. Flexibility can also help you avoid being hurt again.

5. Compression

Wrap an elastic medical bandage across the shoulder to help decrease swelling and soreness. Use a basic Adhesive bandage or a cold compression bandage. A shoulder bandage is also available at a drugstore. Wrap it around your shoulder gently but not too tightly. You do not want to stop the flow of blood. Adjust the compression bandage if your arm or hand feels numb, tingling, or bluish.

Using home remedies for shoulder discomfort might aid in the healing process. In addition, they lessen the likelihood of re-injuring your shoulder. However, if your shoulder pain does not go away after the home remedies, you need to seek other treatment options.
